A New Vision
"You will
know the Truth, and Truth will set you free."
A Work in Progress
Here’s a new way to see God more
clearly, to protect yourself from enemies, to recognize true friends, and to win
continuing victories in life that can be yours simply by taking control of the
words you use and daring to look at the reality around you in a new way that has
been written about for centuries but lost in old books few people bother to read
these days.
To gain this power in truth you need
only set aside the partial truths you’ve been taught and embrace what is
genuinely true … for your soul’s sake.
Everything offered here is in
agreement with what you’ve been taught all your life about the Bible, about
being good, and about pleasing God … however we are going to explore all this in
greater depth than you’ve ever been taught before, and we are going to suggest a
decision you have never before been asked to make. All this is easy enough for a
child to understand, yet you will have to reach beyond where you presently
stand. You’ll have to see more clearly and dig more deeply into life’s
mysteries. You can begin at once to experience the power in truth as you apply
the principles taught here, however to appropriate this power as your own you
must make it your own, i.e., you must change the way you view the world around
you and relate to others differently. As you apply the truth offered here,
you’ll overcome difficulties at work, solve problems at home, and gain victory
over struggles within yourself that have crippled your faith and left you
wondering why your prayers haven’t been answered.
If you’re ready for power that can
only be found in truth, read on.
PART ONE:
The first step to gaining power in
truth is learning God’s Name.
God’s Name is not “God”.
Though God has many names, there is
one Name by which God specifically instructed us to remember God. This is the
Name by which all generations are to remember God, whether you are Christian,
Jew, Muslim, or of any religion whatsoever. This is the Name we are commanded to
keep holy, the name we should never use in vain.
God’s Name is I AM.[1]
God said to Moses from the burning
bush on Mount Horeb, “I AM THAT I AM.”
God told Moses to tell the children
of Israel that I AM was the Name by which God was to be remembered by all
generations, yet we do not remember God as I AM in this rebellious age. We have
many names for God, and most of us simply refer to God as “God”, unable to use
God’s true and eternal Name because we don’t know what it is … or because we
refuse to honor it.
God’s Name is treasure awaiting
discovery. In this very special Name there is power. In meditating on the Name
there is wisdom. In keeping the Name holy, as all were commanded to do, a great
discovery is revealed to those who obey.
One of the Ten Commandments is to
keep God’s Name holy.[2]
What does it mean to keep something
"holy"?
What is holiness?
This word comes from the same root
as “hallowed”, a special word in the first sentence of the Lord’s Prayer. We
pray, “Hallowed be thy Name,” yet many of us have no idea what we’re saying.
Have you ever said those words in prayer? Do you know what they mean? Do you
really know what they mean?
When Moses stood in the presence of
the burning bush, God said, “Draw not hither. Put off your shoes, for the place
whereon thou standest is holy ground.”[3] God told Moses to take off his shoes because the ground on which Moses stood was
holy. Moses did as he was told, but what did God mean by “holy ground”?
What is holy?
Webster’s dictionaries define the
word as “set apart for the worship of God.” We might add that something holy is
dedicated for a special purpose, to be used only for God and not for any other
purpose. Holy things are set apart for the purpose of worshipping God.
They are not to be taken in vain. We
are not to take God’s Name in vain.
The word “vain” is defined by
Webster’s dictionaries as “having no real value.” To get a deeper meaning we
examine “vanity”, a word derived from the same root. Vanity is the elevation of
ego, conceit, putting self in the center ring. Anything “taken in vain”,
therefore, is robbed of its holiness, used to honor self, worshipping the
creature instead of the creator.
When we are commanded not to use
God’s Name in vain we are told to use God’s Name only for God and not for self.
After all, God’s Name is not your name, nor is it my name, nor is it
anyone’s name but God’s Name. It is holy. It is to be used for no purpose but
worshipping God.
When we use God’s Name to refer to
ourselves, we take God’s name in vain. Vanity and not holiness is the result. We
break the commandment. We make mockery of the Lord’s Prayer.
Hallowed be thy Name.
You may be asking, “Who takes God’s
Name in vain?”
The answer is, “Nearly everyone …
including you!”
This is probably a new teaching to
you, however the scripture verses are there for you to look up on your own, and
every dictionary will tell you what the words “holy” and “vain” mean. If you
wish to turn aside and ignore this teaching, it will still remain the truth, and
you will miss the power in truth if you refuse to accept it.
God’s Name is for speaking to God in
worship.
We are commanded not to use God’s
Name to refer to ourselves.
This probably comes as a surprise.
Yet, power in truth cannot be acquired if you refuse to embrace the truth. This
is the truth. God’s Name is to be kept holy, set apart for worship, never to be
used in vanity to refer to ourselves … however common the public practice may
be.
Just because the world disobeys God
does not mean you must also disobey. Just because the world misses the power of
truth does not mean you must miss it. If you apply yourself to keep the
commandments of God, you will gain power in your life that cannot be found any
other way. Obedience is not an option. Just because this is a new teaching to
you does not mean it is in error. The Bible bears out the truth of this
teaching. Dictionaries of the English language tell us clearly what the words
mean. The only question is, “What will you do now that you know the
truth?”
When is the last time you said, “I
am,” referring to yourself and not to God?
How many times have you said it
today?
How many times have you thought it?
What do you suppose would happen if
you decided to change? What do you suppose would happen if you decided to obey
and keep God’s Name holy, refusing to use it in reference to yourself … whether
in everyday conversation with others or in your internal musings as you think
about yourself in relation to the reality in which you move and have your being?
God’s name is not “God”.
God’s Name, the Name by which God
commands us to remember God, the Name we are to teach all generations, is I AM.
If you really want power in truth,
you’ll agree that God’s Name is not your name and that using God’s Name to refer
to yourself is vanity, taking God’s Name in vain instead of keeping the Name
hallowed, as you profess every time you say the Lord's Prayer.
How could such a thing be true? It
seems absurd when first considered. How could entire generations be born, build
empires, and fade away without seeing this simple truth and obeying?
Perhaps a more important question is
this, “What will you do now that you know?”
Will you continue using God’s Name
in reference to yourself? Or will you seek to keep God’s Name holy, as you were
commanded, set apart to speak of God alone instead of satisfying your own
vanity?
In many Hindu and other Eastern
Religions, priests and penitents chant mantras in which they repeatedly say a
word we English-speaking people spell “Aum” or “Om”. This, of course, is quite
similar to the English contraction of God’s Name, “I’m”. It is, in fact, God’s
Name. In many southern regions of the United States the word is pronounced “Ah’m”,
a word that sounds exactly like the ritual words chanted for centuries in the
East. This is God’s Name. We are supposed to keep the Name holy … for by doing
so we will learn great truths about ourselves and God.
A problem in today’s society is that
many people prefer to shrug off the truth as so much nonsense. We hear that
truth is relative. Some even dare to say that truth is illusion. If they don’t
want to believe a thing is true, they make light of it … as if they had a choice
to decide what is and what is not the truth. If it makes them uncomfortable,
they make fun of those who present it. If it presents too great a problem for
them, they laugh the truth away.
Nearly everyone you meet uses God’s
name in vain. You probably do, too!
They murmur among themselves,
“Everyone uses God’s Name in vain. How can so many people be wrong?” The
children of Israel murmured in the desert and sinned against God because they
would not obey, and a plague of poisonous snakes came upon them. Judging
themselves by themselves, they were not wise.
The consequence of popular rebellion
(approved by far too many churches today for the sake of keeping pews filled) is
that we live in a state of open rebellion against God. We’ve made God in our own
image. We’ve given God names we choose to use and refuse to honor the Name God
told us to keep holy. We refuse to see God as God is. We choose to believe what
we’ve been told about God, because it’s easier for us to accept. We’d rather
listen to teachers who purposely in some instances fail to tell us the whole
truth.
Yet, there it is in black-and-white.
You can read it in your own Bibles.
You can look up the words in your
own dictionaries.
You may find it strange. You may
wish to whisk the truth away, rather than submit to the commandment God gave to
keep the Name holy. You may wish to continue saying “I AM” when you talk to
others about yourself and thinking “I AM” when you consider who you really are
in this complex reality we are all attempting to figure out. Yet, until you stop
using God’s Name to refer to yourself you will fail to find a very special power
that can be yours. You will be in open rebellion outside God’s Will. There will
be missed blessings and adverse consequences you may not discover until it is
too late to obey as you are commanded to obey.
Our rebellion doesn’t change the
truth one iota.
Truth remains the truth.
God’s Name remains “I AM”.
God is all that is, all that ever
was, and all that ever will be. It is God that created us, and not we ourselves.
God alone decided when we would be born, what we would look like, what our
future would be, and when we will die. We are not the author of creation, nor
are we the finishers. We are created beings alive solely by the grace of God. To
think anything else or teach anything else is blasphemy and open rebellion
against the Truth of God.
Meditate on that for just a moment …
or for a lifetime!
Deep inner learning about God will
come to you as you obey this truth with your soul.
Everything you are, were, or ever
will be is because God allows it and makes it possible. You cannot take another
breath if God forbids it. Your heart cannot beat once more unless God wills it.
God is in control, not us. God is I AM … not us.
We can learn about God by keeping
God’s Name holy, not using it to refer to ourselves.
God is truth and knows all truth. We
know only in part.
There is no falsehood with God. Our
errors are constantly being discovered.
God is light. We often hide from the
light, because our thoughts and deeds are evil.
There is no darkness with God. We
see the vastness of reality only dimly and for a very short space of time. Even
where we see darkness yet God is there. There is no place where God is not. God
is even with the souls of those who reject truth, people who choose to believe
(usually because of their fear of God created by guilt) that truth is only
illusion. God is with us all. Every one of us needs to open the eye of our inner
being and see God as the one and only I AM.
Honoring God by keeping God’s Name
holy is a place where true vision can begin.
Truth is not illusion. Truth is
truth. Nothing else is.
God is truth. God is all that is,
all that ever was, and all that ever will be.
That’s who God is!
The Name of God tells us this. We
can learn from meditating on God’s Name, or we can turn aside to familiar fables
we’ve been taught and walk the wide road that leads to destruction.
If we attempt to keep God’s Name
holy and not use it in vanity to refer to ourselves, if we pray for wisdom and
the power to see how this can be done, God will teach us in our inner being who we are. If we honor the commandment of God to keep God’s Name holy, God
will honor the promise to bless us in our souls, and God will enter into closer
fellowship with us as we submit to God.
At first it’s very difficult to stop
using the words “I am” or the contraction “I’m” to refer to ourselves, but you
can do it if you try. Pray for God to guide you. Ask for the grace to do this,
and you will experience new and powerful insights into who God is and who you
are. You’ll find yourself struggling at first. You’ll blurt out the Name without
thinking. It is then you realize what power there is in God’s Name. As you begin
to keep God’s Name holy you learn just how vainly you’ve used it in the past
when you said “I am” not speaking of God or to God but speaking about yourself …
you who exist for only a moment and only that by God’s merciful grace.
Once you purpose to obey, you will
still act out of habit and use God’s Name in vain. For awhile you will continue
to speak about yourself or think about yourself as “I am”. Inner thoughts where
vanity rules will still be filled with the sound of God’s Name, but not in
worship. You will continue to think of yourself this way, until God begins to
reveal the power in truth you have not yet appropriated. Gradually you’ll begin
to learn new things about God and who you truly are in God. You will begin to be
humbled before God. You will begin to realize how proud and boastful you’ve been
when all along you are only what God makes you and allows you to become.
As you contemplate God’s Name and
begin to receive power to control your tongue and your thoughts, you will lose
the natural tendency to speak of yourself “as God”. You will learn in the inner
part of your being that you truly have not made yourself. You will learn that
you do not sustain yourself. You will learn that you did not choose to be born
when you were born. You will learn that you did not decide who your parents
would be. You will learn you are not in control of the life force inside you.
You will learn you are not the power that brought you into being, nor are you
the power that keeps you alive.
You will begin to learn about God in
a new way.
You will begin to truly worship God
as God commanded you to worship … in holiness.
As you make God’s Name holy you will
learn to control your speech (discussed at length further on), and through this
discipline you will begin to be perfected. This is God’s work, given only to
those who obey the commandment. “Keep my Name holy.”
Ask God in prayer for the power to
keep God’s Name holy, and you’ll learn much more quickly. God will answer your
prayer, for it is God’s will for you to keep God’s Name holy. Ask for power to
keep God’s Name holy, and God will give you supernatural vision to see your own
ego more clearly and to see God’s majesty in ways you have never before
imagined.
Don’t listen to those who tell you,
“That’s nonsense. Nobody believes that.”
Just read your Bible. See for
yourself. It’s there in the same Bible used by Episcopalians, Presbyterians,
Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, Catholics, and every other church that purports
to teach about God … including Jewish Synagogues and Islamic Mosques
Just because other teachers have not
taught you this truth doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
Discover this power in truth for
yourself.
Ask God to reveal it to you in your
private prayers.
Resist the temptation to “be like
others” who rebel against God’s authority.
Learn God’s Name. Keep God’s Name
holy as you were commanded to do.
No false god has this name. Gods
other nations worship include stones, trees, the sun, the moon, even living
women and men who hold themselves out as living gods (like the pharaohs of
Egypt) and deceive others into worshipping and serving them. Only the one true
living God has this very special Name we are commanded to keep holy. Only the
one true God is I AM.
There is so much in this simple
truth that volumes could be written and not tell the story fully. Much human
misery arises from our misunderstanding who God truly is. So much sorrow could
be avoided if we would love our children by teaching them to keep God’s Name
holy. We need to understand our equality as creatures. None of us are God. We
need to learn this again and again. Each new generation must be taught. This
truth is perhaps the most important of all truth, for all religious revelation
depends on our surrender to this truth.
God is God. We aren’t.
God loves each of us, yet our pride
too often demands the right to be equal with God, and we deny God the holiness
by which God wishes to bless us. We make God our brother. We make God our
servant. Some even make God “mother earth” or the imagined magic of a healing
crystal or mystic music. Only when we worship God in truth, submitting ourselves
to God alone as I AM by confessing we are only creatures and not our creator,
can we begin to know God as God is. We see as through a smoke-stained glass. Our
understanding is imperfect. Our vanity denies the truth, and so we fight among
ourselves to see who is the greatest of all. Vanity.
Until we see ourselves as we are and
see God as God alone we cannot appropriate power in truth. God’s Name is the
essence of truth. In this truth we can begin to overcome the sorrows of this
world and impart new strength to the nations as well as to individuals.
Tie a string around your finger to
remind you not to use God’s Name to refer to yourself. Write a message on the
bathroom mirror to refresh your memory each morning before you set out for work.
Ask your spouse and friends to call to your attention every time you use those
words in reference to yourself. Try to obey. Ask God in prayer for power to
obey.
You are not I AM. God is.
You are commanded to keep God’s Name
holy.
You are commanded not to use God’s
Name in vanity.
You can do this. God would not
command us to do what cannot be done. It takes practice. You will fail many
times at first, but gradually you will discover the power, and new insights will
be yours as you discover the truth that is only revealed to those who try.
Will you try? Will you make an
effort to obey, or will you go on as you have all your life insisting you are I
AM, when only God is I AM?
Promise comes with obedience. Make
an effort to keep God’s Name holy for one month, at least. Do not use the words
I AM in reference to your self. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
You will learn great things about God and see things about yourself you never
imagined. In the first week you will find yourself worshipping God in a new way.
You will begin to honor God as never before. You will begin to see the truth of
all reality around you and within you in a way that was impossible before. You
will gain wisdom. You will gain power in truth.
I AM is the Name God instructed us
to keep holy. I AM is the Name we are not to use in vain. It is vanity to use
God’s Name in reference to ourselves. God’s Name should be set apart. God’s Name
should be reserved for God alone … whether speaking or thinking about God.
If this is something you were not
taught in church or Sunday school,[4] please don’t think it isn’t true. Lots of things are true you never learned
before. Many adults retain a child’s view of God all their lives and miss the
power in truth. Many grow old and die believing our creator is a bearded being
living somewhere in the clouds high above us. Parents tell children that thunder
is God moving furniture “upstairs”, for example. Such child’s views of God may
explain perplexing questions children ask parents, but they cannot provide a
strong foundation needed for an adult’s spiritual maturity nor the understanding
we all need if we are going to work together for a future that will give our
children a better world through understanding God and obeying the commands of
God by which we are assured of the promises of prosperity and joy … both for
nations as well as for individuals.
God is much more than most of us
were taught in church. We can only grow wiser if we are willing to accept new
teachings, open ourselves to deeper insights, and prepare ourselves for the
benefits of power in truth. It’s time for all of us to grow up and acquire the
power in truth by accepting truth, instead of hiding from it in fables and
doctrines of men’s traditions.
Most children are taught to pray
addressing God as simply “God”. Most adults, therefore, grow up completely
ignorant of hidden truths we all should know and share as we work together for
our common welfare.
If God’s Name is I AM (as the Bible
says it is); if God commanded us to keep this Name holy (as the Bible says God
commanded us to do); and if we are commanded not to use this Name in vanity (as
the Bible clearly states); then what can we lose by at least trying to obey?
What can it possibly cost us to exercise a mustard seed of faith and attempt to
be obedient?
How can we suffer by acknowledging
God alone as I AM and speaking of ourselves as creatures, living beings created
by God, souls made to worship God … not as our equal, not as our pal or our
buddy, but as the great I AM that made all things and is all things.
How can it hurt us to try?
What might we gain in the process?
What could we lose if we don’t at
least try to be obedient?
God has many names. Many faithful
believers see God in Christ Jesus, and surely God is in Christ Jesus, even as
Christ Jesus is in some of us by God’s grace. To some God is Elohim. To others
God is El Shadai or simply Lord. Others use Jehovah, an English equivalent of
the Hebrew Name given to Moses on Mount Horeb. Others say Yeshua. Yet one Name
is truly above all other names of God, the Name God gave Moses for the people to
use as an eternal memorial to God.
I AM.
The original Hebrew word is so
special ancient texts taught it should be spoken only once each year by the high
priest of Israel who, it is reported in old books, emerged from the temple in
Jerusalem to pronounce God’s Name before the people gathered in the courtyard
for the occasion. When the people heard God’s Name they fell down on their
faces. The sound of God’s Name was so humbling they could not stand in its
presence but were awestruck in Godly fear and wonder.
Perhaps more awe and wonder is what
we need most in this age of commercial religions and occult beliefs that take
God out of Christmas and turn churches into businesses that sell new ideas
people desire instead of truths that give power to make this world safer for our
children. Perhaps holiness has been taken from us by the permissiveness of
popular religions reluctant to offend for fear of losing revenues. We have
watered down the truth. We demand milk and cookies when we need strong meat to
strengthen us for the dangerous days ahead. Perhaps we need new teachings about
old truths like this, to bring us closer to God where we can appropriate the
power that is so obviously missing in our divorce-ridden, drug-cursed,
occult-deceived world.
The name given to Moses that day
God’s voice spoke out of the burning bush on Mount Horeb is I AM. This truth
will never change, nor will the commandment for us to keep that Name holy ever
disappear from the tablets of law written on our hearts.
We may ignore truth, however the
truth will remain unchanged until the end of time.
Moses asked God, “When I go back to
the people, who shall I say sent me?”
God told Moses, “Tell them I AM sent
you.”
“Tell them also,” God said, “that by
this Name shall I be known to all generations.”
The Name in Hebrew means, “I am all
that is, all that ever was, and all that ever will be.”
Only God is I AM.
It is no more difficult than that.
Appropriate power in truth.
Obey.
Part Two:
The next step toward acquiring power
in truth is to learn what satan’s name means. (We purposely do not capitalize
that word, since it deserves no honor.)
Look up “devil” in a Hebrew or Greek
dictionary. You may be surprised.
Look up “satan”. It is not what you
may think. It certainly is not what most were taught.
If you’re like many you’ll be
surprised to learn the truth, surprised and empowered by the simple knowledge
conveyed in these two words: devil and satan.
The word devil means, literally, the
false accuser. Substitute “false accuser” for this word whenever you encounter
it, and you’re already on your way to victory over false beliefs.
The word satan is similar, meaning
the adversary of truth. Substitute “adversary of truth” whenever you encounter
this word, and you’ll begin to see the power of God in truth. Real truth. God’s
truth.
Don’t take our word for any of this.
Check it out for yourself. Use Strong’s Concordance or any Hebrew and Greek
dictionaries. Look up the words on the internet if you don’t have access to
another reference. It doesn’t matter where you look. Every reputable source will
tell you they mean just this. The word devil means false accuser, and satan
means the adversary of truth.
Compare these words with the Name of
God, and you will quickly see power in truth, for God is I AM, all that is, all
that was, and all that ever will be.
The devil satan is a liar, the false
accuser, the adversary of truth.
When we listen to satan we are
deceived. That’s exactly what the word means, after all! If we listen to the
adversary of truth, we come away believing lies, and how can that be helpful in
any way? It cannot.
When we listen to God we receive
power in truth. Light dispels darkness. The one who is I AM overpowers the
imposter that seeks to steal our souls with deception and fear. It is no more
difficult than this to have victory. Believe the truth. Trust the truth. Walk in
truth.
God gives us this choice.
If we do not know the truth revealed
by God’s Name and are ignorant to the meaning of the words devil and satan, we
may not choose wisely. In our failure to make better choices for our lives we
bring destruction and ruin on ourselves and on those we love and cherish.
Truth is serious business. We’re not
just talking about words, here. We’re talking about forces that control human
behavior. Beliefs determine the destiny of both men and nations.
On one hand is Truth. On the other
is a pretence that insinuates itself into our minds and hearts with taunts and
temptations to depart from truth. Until we learn to tell the difference, we are
victims of our own ignorance. Therefore, let us learn about the deceiver and how
we can gain power to see through the often beautiful disguises of deceit that
draw us away from God’s truth.
Let’s agree that only the truth is
true. Only truth lasts forever. All that is not true is false. That which is
false is always overcome by that which is true. Light always drives darkness
away. Darkness has no power over light.
Let us confess, however, that as
soon as we turn off the lights, darkness floods in to fill every space light
leaves behind. Each is a force. Light is greater, for light has power to dispel
the darkness, and darkness cannot resist. However darkness is also a power that
cannot be prevented from entering when light is removed. Therefore we need more
light. We need to share light. We need to lift the lamp of truth higher and
receive the power in truth for ourselves and for future generations as we were
commanded to do.
God is I AM, the truth that is, was,
and ever shall be. God is light that has power to dispel darkness by overcoming
that which is false.
God has power over the devil satan.
Satan obeys God.
God allows us to choose whom we will
serve.
God will allow us to listen to lies.
God will allow us to be taken away by deception. God will allow us to be seduced
by darkness, even to be destroyed by our own unwillingness to walk in the light
… by our refusal to make God the one and only I AM.
If you wish to avoid destruction,
you must choose truth over lies. There’s no alternative.
You cannot allow some lies to remain
in your life because they please you, then call on God for favors when you need
help, secretly intending to return to the lies. If you entertain satan (i.e., if
you knowingly allow the liar to purchase your soul with promises of riches and
pleasures, purposely denying truth so you can attain your selfish goals) you
will buy a lifetime of sorrow.
Don’t do it. Choose truth.
Tell satan to depart from you.
Resist false accusations. Overcome the lies with truth.
God will come to your aid to see
that satan goes.
Recognizing satan is sometimes
difficult. The adversary of truth may come to us in the disguise of a beautiful
lover or handsome friend who seeks to draw us away from God’s perfect purpose
for our life. The adversary of truth may come to us in a job offer with a
company that is promoting things contrary to God’s will of peace for our lives.
The adversary of truth may even be present in religious teachings that seem to
honor God but secretly give praises to people and keep us from submitting to the
truths we sometimes don’t want to see.
You learn how to detect deception,
to recognize seducing lies, and to gain power over the false accuser by prayer
and meditation on the Name of God by which you receive power in truth.
Only the truth is true. Only light
has power over darkness.
Sometimes when we sin (we all sin) we are so afraid of God’s judgment that we choose to believe a lie rather
than face the certainty that our sin will sooner or later be discovered. We hide
from truth by choosing an alternative offered by our adversary who seeks only to
deceive us and thereby destroy us. Sin is the doorway through which satan enters
our lives. We open the door. Satan cannot get in another way. Sin is a welcome
mat we lay at the door. This is how the destruction of deception always comes
upon us. We sin. We open the door, and satan enters in a proud disguise of
success or promise of ecstatic pleasure. The liar offers joy, financial success,
power over others, even eternal life. The doorway is always sin. The promise is
always a lie.
We want satan’s promises, so we
believe the lies. We want to believe the lies, because the alternative is facing
God with our sin. We are afraid. We foolishly think we can hide. We think we are
embarking on a great adventure. We think we have arrived at last. We think we
have power to see things others cannot see. We think we can do things others
cannot do. We think we will receive things others cannot receive.
All we get is sorrow in the end, for
lies cannot live forever. Sooner or later light displaces darkness, and we are
worse off by far than when we began.
Why do people surrender to lies?
Many surrender because they know no
better. They are ignorant. They don’t know God’s Name. They don’t know what the
words devil and satan mean. They are misled.
Others go willingly in rebellion,
blindly believing satan has greater power than God, as if shadows had power over
light and could cast the world in darkness by extinguishing the sun.
Most live satan’s lies because they
don’t know the way of escape offered by Christ Jesus through His sacrifice at
Calvary to redeem us from disgrace and ruin by drawing us to the truth in grace
that is freely given and cannot be earned by any of us. They do not see how to
be spared the consequence of guilty pride. They don’t know how to shake off
shame. They make themselves to be God and refuse to surrender to Christ Jesus as
Lord of their lives. You can know the way out of sin. You can learn to escape
the influence of the false accuser whose empty promises can only steal your
soul. First, however, you must find power in truth and deny all false “powers”
that seek to deceive.
It is you who must decide
each day whom you will serve. Each hour, each moment. Each of us is given
choices. What will we believe? How will we live? In whom will we trust? Will we
look to I AM in whom alone there is power to live victoriously as overcomers
submitted to the commandments of God and illumined by His light, or will we
slink away with satan to live a life of secret pleasures that will only catch up
to us someday when our shame will be multiplied and our punishment made more
severe?
These may seem hard choices, however
they can be made easy by the power in truth.
The pleasures of a moment may seem
worth future sorrows, but this is only deception of our adversary the liar who
wants to steal our joy. The power in truth will show us the lie, if only we will
open our eyes to the I AM who alone can show us the way and see that we are not
God.
Each moment we choose. We all
choose. There is none who is exempt from the necessity of choices. Little
children choose. Old people choose. As long as we live we make choices.
Whom will you serve?
Here’s another question. How do we
resist the temptations satan offers to steal our souls?
Sadly, the answer is seldom learned
until one is quite old. It may take years of suffering the consequence of our
wrong choices to learn to resist. Broken dreams result from giving in to
temptation. Once we learn what temptation always brings, we grow to hate it. We
learn to resist because we see the disaster that results from giving in. We
become sensitive to deceit. We fear destruction. After years of disappointment,
it becomes easier to say no. Sensitivity too often comes only with the
experience of making bad choices and enduring the suffering that invariably
follows.
For younger persons hoping to avoid
the sorrows too many of us suffer in our old age, there is another way to resist
temptation. Test the spirits. If a delicious thing offered to you is a good
thing, it will also be true. It will not deny God. It will not insist reality is
illusion. It will never lie to you. It will not wear a disguise. It will not
emphasize the temporary value of material things. It will not seek to be with
you in secret. And, above all, it will not falsely accuse you.
Don’t wait until you’re old to learn
this. Begin to appropriate the power in truth today.
The devil is a false accuser and a
liar. If the devil is in a thing, sooner or later lies will be seen. Instead of
building you up, it will tear you down. It may flatter you for a season, but in
time it will begin finding fault with you. It will condemn you. It will judge
you, and because you have given in to it and hidden from God in the process,
there will be some element of truth in its false judgment. You will be guilty,
and your shame becomes a prison. Deception is its goal. The death of your soul
is its reward. When you see these things, resist.
Never give in to lies.
If you ask I AM to give you the
power of discernment, you will see the lies more clearly and not be so likely to
be deceived in the first place. You will see and hear the lies for yourself. You
will choose love and life instead of pride and death. You can survive the
tempter if you will only see that temptation is a tree that grows in a forest of
lies.
If you fall before you see the lies,
stand up quickly. Resist. Do not again give in. Seek the will of I AM and return
to the light where you will be judged … but far better to be judged for sin than
to be condemned forever by the soul-destroying deceit of our adversary.
People serving satan can often be
discovered by their speech. Not only do they refuse to honor God’s Name, but
they refuse to honor the truth in any way. Some openly make fun of truth. Many
say truth is relative or illusionary. Some ridicule anyone who claims to believe
in God or claims to know salvation comes only by Christ Jesus and His grace.
Others are so casual in the use of words that one may wonder if they ever speak
the truth. Most, however, are subtle as snakes, able to deceive even the wisest
man or woman who lacks power in truth. Those acquainted with the occult may have
spent years studying the mysteries of satan. A few are able to hypnotize their
unwitting victims into surrender. Yet always their methods are lies, false
accusations, deception, sexual seduction, insobriety, and other departures from
the truth.
To discern satan, therefore, one
must learn to discern the truth.
To discern the truth one must first
believe the truth is.
Only truth can save you.
Only truth can set you free.
Only truth can forgive you.
Only truth can bring you peace.
The worst thing you can do when
confronted by satan is to lie. That’s just what satan is after. That’s what
satan wants, for by lying you willingly give satan a place in your life. You
feed the darkness. For this reason we are taught to agree with our adversary in
things that are true, and to resist the lies by which we are falsely accused. In
this way we acknowledge I AM, and the light of truth dispels the power of our
enemy.
The truth that is most powerful in
our lives is the truth that issues from our own lips. Things we say are
sometimes more powerful than things we do. When we admit our faults one to
another, we serve God. When we deny our faults, we give power to the adversary
who lives in our lies and uses them against us to destroy our souls.
When we overcome satan with truth,
we receive blessings from God. When we help others stand, instead of watching as
they fall, we receive blessings from God. When we resist the liar who seeks to
deceive us into a life of destruction and ruin, we receive blessings from God.
As we grow older, this process frees us from traps we fell into so easily when
we were younger, and we are able to help those who have not yet learned.
There is no darkness in light.
There is no light in darkness.
Light has power the darkness must
obey.
Darkness has no power over light.
Satan has no power to rob us unless
we hide from the truth.
Nothing false is of God.
If a thing is false, if a friend
lies to you, if a lover deceives you, resist temptation.
Run so fast the dust shakes off your
shoes!
I AM is not in anything false.
Nothing outside of God is good.
Know your enemy.
No lie can overcome you, unless you
permit it to do so.
Don’t give in. If someone falsely
accuses you, recognize that spirit speaking to you is not true spirit but a
lying spirit. Love the soul, but resist that lying spirit. Don’t allow liars to
put you down. Don’t allow false accusations to cause you feelings of guilt. If
someone you love accuses you of something that isn’t true, pray for that soul
but recognize they are controlled by satan, and love them back to the truth. In
most cases it will do no good at all to argue with them, for the liar in their
speech will never give in to truth. Better to pray for their soul, love them
with kindness, forgive them as best as you can, and give it time.
Be strong. Be good. Have courage. Do
what’s right and in time that soul will see the error of listening to satan, and
you will be restored to your friend. Recognize that your enemy is satan,
however, not the soul of that person you love.
Recognize the difference between
souls and spirits. They are not the same at all!
Recognizing satan is a lifelong
study. Perhaps none of us ever becomes completely adept at it, but in time we
can become more sensitive, better able to discern the lies and to recognize the
source of those lies so we can forgive the souls who serve the lying spirit we
call the devil.
Only as we walk in light do we have
power to see darkness and prepare ourselves against its insidious devices. Only
as we surrender our souls to I AM, instead of living in the rebellion of
asserting our own wisdom, can we appropriate the power to resist the liar who
constantly seeks to destroy us and those we most care for. So long as we claim
our right to live as we wish no matter who it hurts, we expose ourselves to the
certain consequences that come to all who choose the lie.
Be not deceived. Truth will never
fail.
Therefore, be on guard. Pray for
wisdom to discern lying spirits and to resist the delights they offer when we
are weak and willing to be deceived. Test the spirits to see if they are true or
false.
Resist the liar.
Only the liar is your enemy. Only
what’s false can destroy your soul.
Learn what this means, and you will
be well on your way to victory in life.
There is power in truth. Knowledge
of truth is power.
The power in truth is God’s gift to
each of us. Only by this power can love be ours. Only by the power in truth can
peace be sustained in our lives with joy that never ends.
There is no love apart from God.
There is no life in a lie.
Resist what is false.
Part Three
Words are spirit.
People are souls. You are a soul.
You are not a spirit. You have a
spirit. Your spirit gives you life.
When God breathed life into Adam
that first man became a living soul. Adam was a soul into whom God breathed
spirit. The spirit gave Adam life.
Jesus warned us not to fear those
who can take our life but those who can cast our souls into hell. We are souls,
not spirits. We have spirits. Some have true spirit. Some have lying spirit.
Spirits control souls. Souls become
what spirits make them. Spirits give us life to do and say whatever our souls
allow. If we allow false spirits to give us life, we will lie, cheat, steal, and
perhaps even murder others because we are submitted to spirits that are false …
spirits that serve satan the liar.
If we serve the human spirit we were
given at birth, we will serve ourselves. We will be selfish. We will seek what’s
best for us, no matter who we hurt. We will feel sorry for ourselves. We will
blame others when things go wrong.
There is another Spirit we can
serve, however. This Spirit of Truth gives eternal life. This Spirit is also
called the Holy Spirit. This is not the spirit we were given at birth when we
took that first breath of air, nor is it a spirit that lies and deceives or
accuses us falsely. This is the Spirit of Truth given freely to us by Christ
Jesus when we accept His Truth by acknowledging that He died to free us from our
human spirit and the spirits of deception sent against us by satan. This is the
Holy Spirit that gives new life by the power in truth.
What spirit do you allow to
give life to your soul?
What spirit speaks when you open
your mouth?
What spirit motivates you to do the
things you do?
The human spirit you were given at
birth seeks only itself. Sometimes called the spirit of man, this spirit is bent
on self-preservation. This is the spirit that makes babies throw their food out
of the highchair when they don’t get their way. Some people never grow out of
this spirit.
Lying spirits all serve the devil
satan, taunting, deceiving, seducing, punishing, hating, shaming, stealing,
slandering, gossiping, destroying, even murdering. Lying spirits are often in
league with our own human spirit, serving the selfishness that is innate in the
human spirit we were born with. Our human spirit is prideful, resisting God, so
lying spirits take advantage of the pride of our human spirit and pump us up
with lies or condemn us for selfishness. In every soul controlled by lying
spirits there is either false pride or sinful guilt or both.
The only Spirit that never lies is
the Holy Spirit we receive when we accept that Jesus died for us at Calvary and
was given life again to walk from the empty tomb. When we make His soul a
sacrifice for our sin[5] (which we cannot do without confessing our sin) we receive grace and power in
truth that is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit who cannot lie and will never
deceive us. It is the Spirit of Truth that teaches us all things. It is this
Spirit that brings purity, peace, gentleness, mercy, forgiveness, understanding,
and hope.
The problem we humans have is that
it takes time to learn all that the Holy Spirit teaches us. We don’t suddenly
become peaceful, gentle, or pure. We fall prey to our desires. We fall prey to
our fears. We fall prey to our pride. And, when we sin, we fall prey to guilt
and shame. Each day we must learn again who God is, who we are, and who our
enemy the liar is. Each day we must make choices.
Whom will we serve?
If we are blessed with wisdom we
choose to serve God, making I AM the author and finisher of our faith instead of
standing in our own counterfeit wisdom resisting truth. If we are wise we submit
to the authority of God, as taught by scripture, and avoid the tragedies that
come to those who rebel out of fear or misplaced loneliness. If we are wise we
see that we are helpless apart from God’s blessings, and we cry out in faith for
protection from the lies of satan so we can escape the destruction that follows
temptation.
For many of us, however, this takes
years.
Understanding spirit, however, makes
it easier to find the truth that alone can set us free and the power that is in
that truth.
Words are spirit. If words lie, they
are false spirit serving satan. If words praise self with arrogant pride, they
are of our human spirit serving self. If words are true, peaceful, encouraging,
loving, kind, gentle, approving, patient, seek to benefit others, and enlighten
us as to the nature of I AM and of Christ Jesus who alone can give us power in
truth by grace, they are Holy Spirit, Spirit that cannot lie, Spirit that cares
for your soul, Spirit that gives life and hope where otherwise there would be
only death and despair.
Our Bible teaches us to test
spirits, to see if they are of God or not. Spirits that lie are not of God.
Spirits that falsely accuse are not of God. Spirits that tear down instead of
building up are not of God. Spirits that condemn are not of God. Spirits that
lead us into sin are not of God.
Recognize the True Spirit given with
our faith in Christ Jesus and cling only to this Spirit that never lies. Be
taught by the Holy Spirit. Be led by the Holy Spirit. For only the Holy Spirit
can be trusted with your soul.
False spirits accuse falsely. False
spirits tell outright lies or partial truths. False spirits deceive people into
drawing away from God. False spirits encourage souls to believe lies and lead
people into lifestyles and practices that ultimately prove destructive. False
spirits make bad things seem good. False spirits make evil things seem proper.
False spirits betray the souls they deceive. But, in the light of Truth they can
be seen for what they are.
The Holy Spirit cannot lie, will
never lie. The Holy Spirit speaks only truth, and the truth the Holy Spirit
speaks always honors Christ Jesus, teaching us about His love that transforms
our souls and saves us from the liar who seeks to draw us away from what is
truly good for us. To be separated from I AM is the worst thing that can happen
to any of us, because only with I AM are we safe from being lost in the darkness
of lies that destroy our souls. The Holy Spirit is our rescuer, our comforter,
our adviser, and our friend.
Jesus said, “The Truth will set you
free,” therefore let us learn what truth is by learning Who Truth is. The Holy
Spirit is given so we can learn truth and turn our backs on lies that seek to
turn us from the truth who is I AM in Christ Jesus.
Many people never learn this,
because they choose to hold to children’s fables. Many die believing simple
fable about God, instead of living with power in truth that alone can set them
free. Only when we are ready to accept the truth God offers, the truth our enemy
wishes us never to know, can we find victory for our souls.
Satan is a liar.
Many spirits are in the world, not
that I AM wishes this to be but because we allow it to satisfy our desire to be
gods in our own right. We do not wish to submit to the authority of I AM. We
secretly wish to be “I am” on our own. We dishonor the Creator who made us. We
ignore the Truth in whom we move and have our being. We entertain spirits that
tell us (in words, always in words) what we wish to hear. We listen to spirits
that whisper in the ears of our soul, telling us it is acceptable to sin or
tormenting us with false accusations that keep us from walking in the light of
truth. We admit these spirits into our lives, and they take up residence with
our souls. They begin to speak for us. They begin to speak through us. They
begin to control our emotions. Finally they direct our behavior and, if we do
not submit ourselves to the truth, they rob us of our very lives.
Very often those around us see
clearly what is happening, while we ourselves are blind to the evil influence
that is taking over our hearts because we will not be submitted to I AM but
choose instead to be “I am” in our own right.
This hard teaching is true. Your own
Bible proves that it is true.
Jesus said, “The words I speak to
you are spirit, and they are life.”[6] Words are spirit. We are souls. We are not spirits.
The writer of Hebrews tells us, “The
Word of God is sharp as any two-edged sword, able to divide the soul from the
spirit.”[7] If soul and spirit can be divided, they are not the same thing.
Soul is soul. Spirit is spirit.
False spirits condemn. The Spirit of
Truth sets us free.
False words mislead. The Spirit of
Truth guides us to eternal victory.
Those who accuse us of things we
have not done are enemies of God, false spirits. They are not souls, however,
and though we judge false spirits we should love the souls who are under their
control. We judge spirits, but we should not judge souls, for souls who serve
false spirits are deceived just as all of us have been deceived at one time or
another. Souls serving false spirits can only be set free by accepting the love
of Christ poured out to them through us by the Holy Spirit giving power in truth
through grace. We pray for the souls of those who wound us. We love them, even
while we resist the false accuser who speaks lies to us with their permission.
The Holy Spirit teaches us all
things.[8]
False spirits, i.e., spirits that
lie or speak half-truths, seek only to separate us from I AM and make us believe
we can live successfully outside the truth, hiding from our errors. You can
learn this now, or you can learn the hard way later in life when sin has
destroyed your joy and shattered all your dreams.
Truth never fails.
Therefore, judge the spirits. Are
they true? Do they teach you about I AM, or do they try to influence you to
believe you can hide from I AM and be “I am” in your own strength? Are you
walking in the light, or are you hiding in darkness because your deeds are evil?
There is no way to escape truth, for truth is always with us. If we listen to
false spirits because we want to live our lives apart from I AM, worshipping
created things instead of the I AM who created all that is, we are deceived and
will suffer terrible consequences if we do not submit to truth before it is too
late.
When someone you love accuses you
falsely, remember it is not the soul who speaks to you but spirits within them
that serve the liar. You are wasting your breath to argue with a lying spirit,
because such spirits never abide in truth. The best thing you can do is to love
the soul. Do good to the soul. Be kind. Be patient. Judge the spirit for what it
is, and resist the spirit, for it can have no power over you unless you enter
into its lies. Don’t go there. Be free. Stand in the power of truth and love the
soul that, for now, is permitting itself to be deceived.
Do this and you will find many
victories. In time you will receive much love in return.
Part Four:
You can control your speech.
That statement is so important it
deserves to be repeated.
You can control your speech!
You can receive power in truth to
control what you say, and by doing so you will be made perfect. Yes, by
controlling your speech you will be made perfect.
Of course, you will only remain
perfect so long as you control your speech.
Jesus said it is not what goes into
a man that ruins him but what comes out of his mouth that defiles his soul.[9]
Words. Spirit. Power for good or for
evil. The choice is yours.
Lying, prideful, cruel spirit or
True Spirit.
James writes that the man who can
control his tongue becomes a perfect man.[10]
For example, you may have heard it
say, “Nobody is perfect,” yet the Bible says we can be perfect. Jesus
commands us, “Be perfect.”[11] Surely these things would not be written if they were impossible.
With I AM all things are possible.
So long as you hold onto being “I
am” in your own right, however, these things are not possible.
Power in truth is not available to
those who believe truth is relative or that reality is illusion. To appropriate
power in truth to be perfect, therefore, begin by accepting the truth and
speaking it.
You cannot lie and be empowered by
truth.
We cannot joke around and later say,
“I was only kidding,” and expect to receive power in truth from God.[12]
We cannot say to our spouse, who
washes dishes on occasion, even if only rarely, “You never wash the
dishes,” or to our spouse who occasionally but infrequently brings flowers, “You never bring flowers.” These statements are not true. They are not of God.
They are lies and are part of the plot of the devil satan who is the father of
lies. Those who say such things, even if everyone else in the family says such
things, serve satan.
Every lie is of the devil and works
death in our souls.
No lie is of God.
A young man about 9 years old was at
a church supper some years ago when the pastor unwittingly patted the boy on the
head and said to one of the deacons, “Billy is a devil. Aren’t you Billy?” The
boy nodded a sheepish agreement. Who but God will ever know what damage that
single moment may have done to that child’s soul?
A father angrily shouted at his son,
“You’ll never amount to anything!” Who but God will ever know the harm that
single statement did, the greatness that boy will miss because his very own Dad
condemned him with false words.
We can control our speech.
First, however, we must make up our
minds to do so. We must purpose in our hearts not to listen to the lying spirits
that tell us it cannot be done. We must trust the power in truth and be
submitted to I AM to give us the ability to do what we could never do without
the power in truth that is given by the Holy Spirit.
If we give in to the lying spirits
that say we cannot do this, we commit sin, for with God all things are possible
… even this. Indeed, perhaps especially this, for it is the things that come out
of our mouths that destroy us and not thing the things that go in.
Why are we so careless with our
tongues? Is it not because the people of this world are careless with theirs? Is
it not because we have not been properly instructed by those who lead us? Is it
not because we have believed the lie that we cannot do it?
Of course we can do it. We are not
compelled to say anything. One need not speak to be alive. One must breathe,
eat, drink water, and sleep occasionally, but one is not compelled to speak and
certainly is not compelled to speak lies or say hateful things to or about
others. This is but another choice we make.
Whom will we serve?
Many people think if they mean no
harm it is acceptable to say to another, “What an ugly necktie you’re wearing!”
as if attitude prevents injury. As if custom excuses fault. As if so long as we
can say we were only kidding it’s alright to say anything we please.
It isn’t alright. The Bible says
we must give account of every word we speak. Surely that includes hateful things
we say in jest or half-truths we use to injure or control those closest to us.
We can control our tongues. This is
the path to perfection.
As we submit our tongue to I AM we
receive power in truth. Our mind comes under the dominion of the Holy Spirit,
and our bodies begin to be submitted to purity and the rule of God’s will. The
tongue may be a little member in our body, but it controls great things.[13] As we submit our tongues to receive power in truth we bring power into our souls
as well.
Of course none of this is possible
apart from the Love of Christ that gives power in truth by grace. It is the Love
of Christ in our hearts that makes us want to do these things. Apart from our
desire to please God by loving others in response to Jesus’ love, all our
righteousness is as useless as a filthy rag, unable to wipe our lives clean of
the sin our selfish pride entices us to commit.
Part Five:
The power is all in the Love of
Christ Jesus within your own heart!
Your Bible teaches that the law came
by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Jesus died on a cruel cross
so you could know the truth and receive His grace of power in truth. It is only
by the love of Jesus any of us can be healed, only by Him we can inherit eternal
life, only by Him and Him alone we can escape the wrath of God’s judgment.
Love is the power in truth that sets
us free.
There is no love apart from Christ
Jesus and His Blood Sacrifice for us, for those who are incapable of loving
Jesus are incapable of loving anyone (even themselves).
Nothing but the love of Christ can
rescue us from our adversary, for we do not have power in truth apart from Him.
His Life is the power in truth which we overcome the enemy of our souls. His
Truth is our victory. His Victory is our truth that sets us free.
There are many teachings. There are
many great men who lived in times past and imparted great wisdom through their
writings. But only one offers us the power in truth that can change us from
within.
All others challenge us to change
ourselves. This is true of the Hebrew faith. It is true of Islam. It is true of
all Oriental teachings, some of which encourage self-sacrifice to the point of
suicide for the sake of honor. Yet none of these gives power in truth to change
from within. They only impose restraints from without, seeking to cause their
adherents to submit to the will of the collective for the sake of the collective
by the threat of the collective. Their followers are enslaved to commandments
they are required to obey by the force of their own will. They are not free.
Only Jesus makes it possible for us
to receive power in truth by which we are changed within through the work of His
Spirit alive in our own hearts, moving us, motivating us, giving us a desire to
do and become what is best for us and for those around us in the world, setting
us truly free.[14]
Many people miss this truth because
they have been taught a child’s view of God and of who Jesus is. To receive the
grace of Christ we must become as little children, but as we become adults we
should not retain a childish view of God. We need to see God as God truly is,
the embodiment of I AM. We need to see God as pure, holy, and able to transform
our hearts by a power we do not possess.
Jesus said, “Consider the lilies.
They do not toil. They do not work at weavers’ wheels to spin fiber into cloth.
Yet even King Solomon had nothing to wear as fine as these flowers.”[15]
Jesus asked, “Who among you can make
yourself taller by thinking about it?”[16] Of course there was no answer from the crowd, because it cannot be done! We are
no taller than God made us to be. In this there is a prophetic lesson we all
need to learn.
We do not make ourselves good. God
does.
We ask. We receive. The rest is up
to God.
Power in truth was taught by Jesus,
though the lesson got lost in human struggles that haunted His church for
centuries. Jesus taught us to receive power in truth.
Paul also taught this. So did James,
Peter, and John.
Outside the truth there is no real
power and certainly no lasting victory.
If the life-transforming power of
Christ’s love is omitted from a teaching, that teaching is without the power you
need to find the victory you seek, because it ignores the truth that alone can
set you free. The power to overcome the enemy of your soul is found in the life
of Him who overcame that enemy for you at Calvary and again at the empty tomb.
We need to agree in this knowledge.
We need to share the insights this knowledge offers. We need to use the wisdom
that comes from these insights so we can reach out with power to all who are
suffering because of the darkness that once deceived each one of us before we
submitted to the power in truth God is now showing us by grace.
Only love can overcome the enemies
of our souls.
Love is power in truth.
This power in truth is not love as
the world sees love but love as your soul sees love when you contemplate the
amazing love by which Christ Jesus loved us at Calvary, the love that raised Him
from the dead.
Be not wise in your own conceits.
Submit to God as I AM, and give up
your struggle to be “I am” in your own right.
Let your wisdom be submitted first
of all to truth.
Know the devil satan is your enemy,
but also know your enemy’s only power is your own willingness to believe lies
and be deceived by temptations of false promises.
Words are spirit. Some are false.
Some are true.
You are a soul with free will to
choose what spirit you will serve. You can live by your selfish human spirit.
You can live by lying spirits. Or you can live in the light of God’s Holy Spirit
given by Christ Jesus and receive power in truth.
You can control your speech.
Indeed, no one else can. Only you determine whom your tongue will serve. No lie
is of God. No half-truth is of God. Jesting harms others. Choose to control what
you say.
The power to do these things comes
only from Christ Jesus. Go to Him in prayer. Ask for wisdom and power in truth
to resist the liar who is your enemy and your human spirit whose pride threatens
to cast you into hell. Make Jesus Lord of your life, and obey Him in all things.
Then you will have power in truth …
and life eternal.
