Out of Order
What’s that?
You don’t believe in God?
Haven’t you heard? Scientists and
scholars have discovered God is real, after all. The universe is ordered.
There is a plan. You are part of that plan … like it or not … win or lose
… you cannot escape.
You can walk backward all your life, bumping into
things, falling down, injuring yourself and others. You can close your eyes. You
can close your mind. You can run and hide in drugs and alcohol or addiction to
pornography and gambling. You can be violent and drive your friends and family
away. You can even find yourself in prison someday or face down in a ditch with
the rest of the world passing you by without so much as a moment’s notice.
But you cannot escape from God.
None of us can.
Why don’t you believe in God?
Is it because you cannot accept what others tell you
about God, what they tell you God is like, what they tell you God will do?
Perhaps they’re wrong. Perhaps you’ve been listening to the wrong people all
this time.
Is it because you just don’t see any evidence of
answered prayers in your life? Is God too silent, too distant, too impersonal
and seemingly uncaring? Perhaps it’s because nobody taught you how to pray
properly with a heart prepared for the answers God wants to give to you and you
alone.
Or is it because you believe there’s no such thing as
absolute truth? Oops! Who led you to believe there is no such thing as truth?
Did they tell you truth is relative? Or did they give you that old spin,
“Reality is only an illusion?” To tell the truth, if you believe there’s no such
thing as truth, you are temporarily deceived. Sooner or later you will discover
that truth is quite real. There’s still hope for you to see the light.
Truth is.
Everyone comes face-to-face with the truth sooner or
later.
His Name is Jesus ... wounded for you and for me.
